Excerpt and Contest for "Other Side of the Line" 4 Days Until Release Day!

Hello everybody. Four Days and Counting Down! I can’t believe it before “Other Side of the Line” will be released from Dreamspinner Press
Caleb and Hal meet when they are eight years old and throughout their lives they faced many rough moments that they weathered through the strength of their friendship. But what happens when distance threatens that closeness? Hal’s dad has been transferred back to New York and Hal and Caleb are forced to say goodbye just as they’re discovering more about themselves and how they feel about each other. I hope you enjoy.

Excerpt from "Other Side of the Line" Countdown to Release - 14 Days!

Charleston, SC—November 6, 1963

Caleb’s teacher paced across the front of the classroom, leaning on his cane, his white hair gleaming in the afternoon sunlight. “Now can anyone name a hero from the War of Northern Aggression?” He paused and focused on Hal in the front row. Hal had just started in their class on Monday, coming all the way down from New York. “That would be the Civil War for those of us who might not understand… given their unfortunate origins.”
“Oooohh!” Hal’s hand shot up. He talked funny, fast and with a strange high accent. He liked to try to answer all the questions, and sometimes he stared at Caleb too much, but he never seemed mean about it, only curious. At least his eyes didn’t slide away as if Caleb’s skin was covered in rancid oil, and that made for a welcome change.

Friday Excerpt - Fortunate Son

I have to admit, this short story is one of my favorites that I wrote with Fae. I’d always hoped we’d do more with Ricky and Charlie, but we got caught up in other projects. And the soundtrack for this one was so much fun to do.

Excerpt - Exceptions to the Rule

Exceptions to the Rule was the second release for Fae and me. I can't quite remember where we got the idea for it. I think it might've been for a Valentine's Day challenge on Romance Divas. My memory is mush these days. I do remember Jamie and his tattoo being an instant hit with us and how much we enjoyed writing the spanking scene. This here, is Jamie and Nathan's first kiss.

Friday Excerpt - "Snowbound, Lovebound?"

Until my husband and I get this new joint project we’re poking at off and running I think I’ll post excerpts from my backlist starting with the very first story Fae and I put out there. “Snowbound, Lovebound?” is from Dreamspinner Press’s Mr. Right Now Anthology. Bryan Tam and Jimmy Murphy are co-workers stuck in a car together in a snowstorm. Each knows how to get under the other’s skin and as the tempers flare, so do the sparks. We love these two. Enjoy.

Excerpt - Ghosts in the Wind

Ghosts in the Wind was nominated in the Pre-editors and Editors Reading Poll, and voting ended a few days ago. I can’t believe it was nominated, I do love that story. So in honor of that occasion I decided to post an excerpt. This is from when Dean first wakes up after he was shot. Enjoy.

"Ghosts in the Wind" Excerpt

This is from the opening chapter.  I was in love with Dean and Andrei from the outset.  I just loved the way they were together, friends as well as long time partners.  The edits aren't completely done so if there are any mistakes, I apologize.  I hope you enjoy.

Dean tugged on a pair of track pants and paused in the bathroom long enough to pull back the curtain and land a satisfying, wet smack on Andrei’s ass. He danced out of the way laughing as Andrei spun with an indignant squawk to take a retaliatory swipe at him. “Ever vigilant! Dude, after all these years you’d think you’d have learned. Be happy I didn’t toss in cold water this time.”

Andrei jerked the shower curtain closed again. “You should be happy I’ve got too much shampoo in my hair to chase you down and beat your ass.”

Dean snickered and paused at the mirror to run a comb over his cropped hair. “Got me shaking there, babe. Seriously, I’m terrified.”

Time In a Bottle

Good afternoon everyone.  I've emailed the winners from the New Year's Day contest.  In the meanwhile, I've been busy wrapping up the second draft of my lastest story Time In a Bottle.  I just sent it off to beta readers yesterday.  I hope to have it polished and submitted by Valentine's Day so keep your fingers crossed.  In the meanwhile I thought I'd share the blurb, the opening bit and a NSFW picture with you.
